The shelter fabric worked loose in the winds. It is held in place by rachet straps around the base and some of these had to be reinstalled and/or tightened.
It is a long way down there for a big guy!
Mike is cutting one of the supports for the side platform to length.
Ron is drilling for a horizontal tie rod.
The washer and nut will be recessed.
Installing a block between sills. Note the cutouts on the ends for tie rods.
The two needle beams under the car are deteriorated and need replacing. These are held in place with bolts and are used in conjunction with the long horizontal trusses to support the center of the car.
This one is removed.
The new needle beams are white oak.
Craig is predrilling a spacer block for the fastener to hold it in place.
Predrilling makes putting the screws in much easier.
Two new spacer blocks in place with cutouts on the ends for tie rods. The square washer for the rod on the left is at the bottom of the photo, in the end sill.
Thanks again to Don for help with the photos.
More to come! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
